(1) That the improvement of the Hong Kong side of the
harbour was an outstanding problem which should be tackled as speedily as possible.

It was then agreed that the Committee would proceed, the following meetings, to hear the views and consider the representations of those people who had accepted the invitation which the Chairman, acting in accordance with the Committee's wishes expressed at the last meeting, had addressed to them. The Committee would then decide which, if any, of the Government officers it wished to hear, before asking Mr. Colman for his views on methods of administration which might be adopted instead of a Port Trust. The Committee would then debate the matter further before deciding upon its recommendations.
ADJOURNMENT.
The meeting then adjourned until 4.30 p.in. on Monday, 30th September, 1946.
